This week, we were given feedback on our initial digital type specimen screens.

This design was Dr Boyd’s favourite. He advised me that I should add more letters around the ‘B’ and that I should keep space around it.

This is my favourite design, as Bodoni is used in many fashion magazines and fashion houses, I wanted my poster resemble an avant-garde editorial piece that you would see in the fashion industry. Dr Boyd suggested that I shouldn’t restrict myself with only using red and white and that I should start off with black and white, to ensure I like the design, and then, introduce some colour. He also advised that I should experiment with this design but instead of using the ampersand, I should try using letters, to display the Bodoni font.

As we have three designs to produce, I have decided that I will continue to work with this design as it’s also one of my favourites as I think it’s quite artistic and I want to see how I can develop this idea.
