When it comes to the branding and visual identity for the website, my goal is to keep things really minimal. I plan to feature the logo prominently in the header and use Playfair Display and Jost for all the text. Other than that, I’m sticking to a black-and-white colour scheme to let the work and images really stand out. I want the design to feel clean and focused, allowing the content to speak for itself.
I started by sketching the layout for my portfolio website. Right from the beginning, I knew I wanted the homepage to focus entirely on showcasing my work. The goal was to make sure it stands out and immediately grabs the viewer's attention, setting the tone for the rest of the site.
I have my four projects displayed front and centre to make it as impactful as it can. I avoided using descriptions on the home screen as you’ll learn about the project when you click into it.
I originally displayed my headings above the information and I liked the way it looked but I wanted to push myself with the design- without it being overpowering.
