How to Get a Job at X
I found this website incredibly interesting, as it explains how you can get a job at certain companies. The companies ranged from Airbnb, Spotify, Nike and Disney. One in particular that peaked my interest was how to get a job at Bobbi Brown. There were some points made in the article that I found useful to know.
- Most of Bobbi Brown's design hires came from a referral. It would be beneficial to try to make a connection with someone online or find a friend of a friend to make an introduction for you.
- In your portfolio and in your interviews. You don't need a specific design background to work at Bobbi Brown, but they want to see an eagerness to learn.
- Photography skills can come in handy – especially the technical side of it, how to set up light and such. As a beauty brand, photography is the vocal point of their designs as they’re showcasing a product. Having a basic knowledge of photographers, set designers, stylists, ect is a plus.
