In our first lecture of the semester, we took a look at the brief for our projects of the semester. One of our projects for the semester is to create a music app using illustration.
During our class, we delved into the crucial role that illustration plays in communication. We learned that illustrations aren't just simple pictures; they are, in fact, a language of their own. Just like how words combine to form sentences and convey a narrative, images, when combined together, can do the same. They can effectively tell a story, convey emotions, and impart knowledge. By reading a picture, we open our minds to a whole new way of understanding and interpreting the world around us.
We looked at many different illustrators such as:
Marian Deuchars was my favourite illustrator that we looked at in class today as I feel like her work reflects my personal style. I adore her use of bright colours along with sketches that look unfinished.
Paddy Donnelly is another favourite of mine, I also love his use of bold colours and his overall artistic style.
