In this week’s lecture, we briefly went over infographics.

An infographic is a collection of imagery, data visualisations like pie charts and bar graphs, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of a topic.

What makes a good Infographic?

Utility

Beauty

An infographic should have beauty because it attracts the viewer's attention and keeps them engaged. A visually pleasing infographic can help simplify complex information, making it more digestible and enjoyable for the viewer. Furthermore, beautiful design can enhance the effectiveness of the infographic by improving its readability, highlighting essential points, and making a stronger impact.

Soundness

Soundness in an infographic is crucial because it ensures that the information presented is accurate, reliable, and constructed logically. A sound infographic not only tells the audience what the data says, but also why it matters and how it should be interpreted. It ensures that the design accurately represents the data and doesn't mislead the audience. In other words, soundness adds credibility and trustworthiness to your infographic.
