In this weeks lecture, we looked at the possibilities for the future of Interaction design.

The future of interaction design holds exciting possibilities and challenges. As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see trends in user interfaces, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction. Some potential future interfaces and concepts include Future UI and Future HCI, which explore intelligent design and the next frontiers of interaction.

We looked at current UI trends, AI, Alexa and future interaction patterns from the human computer interactions lab at Carnegie Mellon university. After this lesson, I wanted to explore more about this topic as I find it really interesting.

Here are some examples I found of predictions for the future that peaked my interest-

Looking ahead, nanobots are predicted to connect our brains to the cloud, providing full immersion virtual reality and solving memory-related issues. Additionally, advancements in artificial intelligence could allow for the recreation of deceased loved ones based on extracted memories and DNA sampling.

Space tourism is another potential development, with companies like Blue Origin and SpaceX pushing the boundaries of space travel. While initially accessible only to the wealthy, it may become more feasible for a broader audience by 2050.

Self-driving cars have the potential to improve road safety, reduce accidents, and transform our lifestyles. They could also impact where people choose to live, thanks to increased comfort and decreased cognitive load during travel.

Furthermore, drones equipped with advanced technology, such as laser scanning, could enable us to explore and map previously inaccessible areas, including deep underground mines.
