This week we learnt about colour and how important it is to ensure a perfect design.
There are many different types of colour combinations and styles you can choose from, such as analogous colours, complimentary colours, subtractive and additive colours.
As designers, we must be aware of accessibility issues, such as colour blindness, the choice of colours must suit everyone so that they are able to interact with content. The choice of colour combinations could be the make or break of a design.
Toptal is a colourblind test website, you can test other websites to see if it they fit the accessibility standards. This is a very helpful tool to test whether or not your designs are accessible.
We were given the task to create colour palettes for analogous, monochromatic and complimentary colours.
I used Adobe Colour to help guide me in choosing my colour palettes for each of these templates.
My Designs:
I really like the colour patterns in each of these designs. The first design which is the monochromatic one, and I really like the shades of purple. My favourite design is the analogous design, which is the one in the centre, as I love the warm tones. The third design, the complimentary, is very interesting to me as I love the unique and contrasting shades of purple and green. I enjoyed this task as I love experimenting with colour, especially bright, vibrant ones.
