In this weeks lecture, we learnt about Bauhaus and its impact on design; being the world’s first University to specialise in design, therefore identifying the importance of design in all aspects of life.
The Bauhaus was an Art and Design school based in Germany. The Bauhaus created influencial movements for modern design.Everyone did a bit of everything- graphic design, fine art, product design and they eventually sold their work which made money for school. when you do something different can open doors. learn something new.
Johannes Itten taught basics in composition and colour. He also designed colour grids which i find fascinating.
Laszlo Moholy-Nagy was a photographer and professor. He aimed to incorporate technology into his work, particularly through typophoto. Additionally, he designed a logo for the Bauhaus.
Wassily Kandinsky taught basics of designs for beginners. His work is my favourite out of all of the designers we looked at today. I love the use of bright, bold colours in his pieces and his work would definitely inspire me for future projects.
