I explored a few typefaces, primarily sans serif ones as i feel that it’s more fitting to a younger audience.
I narrowed down my favourite typefaces.
I tried a serif font to see what it would look like, even though i’m not 100% sure if its fitting for this project. However, I came across DM Serif Display and i think it’s lovely, i think it’s still modern looking so i’ll keep it in mind.
From my visual inspiration, I really liked the look of geometric shapes, I think it makes sense for my idea (breaking tasks down into smaller chunks), so I took the brand name, Poco, and made geometric shapes based on the name.
I noticed that the shapes on the bottom resemble flowers, this sparked an idea for the overall brand, while my values were about growth and motivation, I could take the growth part literally and make the branding ‘growth’ based literally and use gardening/ plant references. I thought that this wasn’t a coincidence so I didn’t explore other logo options. However, I did tweak the logo my softening some of the edges to give it more of a floral effect.
As I wasn’t sure on typeface choice, I decided to experiment what they’d look like with the logomark. I really like both of them, however, I’m drawn to DM Serif Display as I think it works particularly well with the logomark, it’s a nice balance between the two.
