In today’s class, we focused on Workplace Etiquette, which, on the surface, might seem like common sense—things like not being rude, staying professional, and respecting boundaries. However, I found it really interesting to dive deeper into these concepts, especially when our lecturer shared personal anecdotes from past experiences in the workplace. Hearing real-life stories about things that went wrong or situations that could have been handled better gave the topic much more depth. It was insightful to understand how seemingly small actions or words can have a big impact on your professional reputation and relationships.

Our lecturer also highlighted some subtle aspects of workplace etiquette that aren’t always talked about—like how to handle conflict in a professional manner, the importance of body language, and knowing when to assert yourself or step back. It made me realise that professionalism goes beyond just the way we communicate verbally; it extends to our behaviour, attitude, and even our approach to teamwork.

I really enjoyed this week's lesson because it felt like practical, real-world advice that I can directly apply as I move into the workforce. There are definitely some valuable takeaways I plan to keep in mind, such as being mindful of how I present myself, knowing when to speak up and when to listen, and being respectful of different perspectives. These are all things I’m sure will help me build strong, positive relationships in any work environment.
